Silent Yachts is an Austrian company that designs solar-electric cruising catamarans, established by Michael and Heike Köhler, whose earlier SolarWave catamaran preceded the current Silent range. The boats pair rooftop solar arrays with battery banks and electric motors for self-sufficient bluewater cruising, with diesel generators fitted only as range extenders rather than as a separate propulsion line. The range spans roughly 60 to 80 feet and includes the Silent 60 and the tri-deck Silent 80.
