What a buyer should know
A serial-hybrid catamaran
The WiderCat 92 is a 28.04 m hybrid-electric catamaran from the Italian yard Wider, in Fano — a wide, stable superyacht for 10 guests, built around a serial-hybrid drive that lets it cruise in silence.
The numbers
Two 500 kW Lucchi electric motors turn the propellers, fed by a 360 kWh LiFePO4 battery, with the generators only making electricity. That gives a 12-knot top speed and a 10-knot cruise for about 600 nautical miles, close to 1000 at an 8-knot economy pace, and zero-emission running up to 6 knots. The GRP and carbon hull is 12 m in the beam. Launched in 2023; CE design category A. Price on application.
The builder
Wider builds its own serial-hybrid yachts in Fano, back in production under Marcello Maggi since 2019. The WiderCat 92 is its 28 m catamaran, alongside the smaller WiderCat 76.
