What a buyer should know
The efficiency case
The Optima e10's numbers are still the most striking in this group. Up to 150 nautical miles from 120 kWh at displacement speed is roughly 0.8 kWh per nautical mile, and a 13-knot top speed from a single 40 kW motor — around 54 hp — is close to impossible on a conventional hull. That is the stabilised monohull with outrigger side-hulls doing exactly what it was drawn to do: forming drag-reducing tunnels and letting a small motor carry a 10.6 m boat at speeds that would normally demand three or four times the power. Kreisel packs and Rad Propulsion drive are both credible suppliers.
Worth knowing: the builder itself corrected the boat's early headline claims — the 200-mile figure painted on the first hull became "up to 150 nm", and 15 knots became 13. We carry the corrected numbers, which speaks well of the yard's honesty and of treating any efficiency claim on a novel hull as a best case.
The price and the practicalities
€467,000 is day-boat money at superyacht-tender level, for one cabin and two berths, and that figure was converted from a £400,000 starting price — re-verify it in the currency you will actually pay. Beam is 3.4 m and draft only 0.6 m, so marina fit is less of a question than the outrigger form suggests, and shallow anchorages open up. Novel hull forms still carry unknowable resale risk.
